For Epson Pro 3800/3880

Sublim8 cleaning cartridges for the Epson Pro 3800 and 3880 are refillable, and are supplied empty along with a bulk 500 ml bottle of Sublim8 cleaning fluid and a filling syringe. The cartridges are simply filled with the cleaning fluid (full instructions included) and can re-used many times for multiple printer cleanings. The refillable cartridges require the use of the ink monitor chips from an original set of used Epson cartridges in order for the ink monitoring firmware on the printer to work correctly. Removal of the chips from the original cartridges is also simple (full instructions included), and these are held in place on the refillable cartridges by a novel, clip in bridge chip design for reliable operation. No separate chip resetter is required with the 3800 and 3880 as the cartridge chips reset to full automatically.

The process for use is pretty simple:-

1. Remove the existing ink cartridges and install the filled cleaning cartridges.
2. Run an initial fill routine or power cleaning cycles to fill the printer’s ink system with cleaning fluid – running a nozzle check print that shows no color indicates that the cleaner has reached through to the print head.
3. Let the printer stand for a few hours or preferably overnight to allow the cleaning fluid to dissolve any dried ink.
4. Remove the cleaning cartridges and re-install ink cartridges.
5. Run an initial fill routine or power cleans to re-prime the printer’s ink system with ink.
